How to minimize mephedrone side effects
If you have already decided by yourself to use mephedrone, than read on. Do not use this guide as a "nothing can go wrong as long as I do this" type guide, its just advice from ex (and current) users to educate meph users.

Mephedrone has been shown to cause a vast array of side effects in a lot of people. Some severe, some not. Despite it exploded popularity, no fatalities have been reported This is a list that swim has created from what he has noticed from personal experience and information online on how to minimize the side effects and how to use meph more safely. Roughly in order of what I consider importance.

A) The best way to avoid side effects: Dont do any in the first place!

* Drink LOTS of water when you are on meph. Swim finds it can suppress your thirst, and if you dont drink frequently then the side effects can get very bad very quickly. Drink a pint or so of water before you use meph, and drinking about a pint or half a pint every hour while using meph would be a very good idea. The occasional energy drink with sugars and salts in would be a good idea too, aswell as plain water.

* People who are naturally obese or very over weight should avoid using it, as should people who are very physically unfit as mephedrone puts strain on you heart like other stims.Very fit people should not have anything more to worry about than a high BPM like you would get from a brisk run round the block.

... though if you've been running round the block for two days, your heart pumping all the time, with no food, you can imagine how awfully bad that can be for your health and cardio system ( this is like doing meph for two days straight, so dont! )

* Do not mix meph with large amounts of things that dehydrate you (alcohol is one of these). Many side effects seem to be caused by this combo. Infact mixing mephedrone with any other drug is not to be recommended, as interactions have not been studied at all. A few beers have shown in most people to not be an issue; but dont end up using meph after being out at a social event where you have drunk eight pints; its common sense really. Moderation.

* Ensure you have eaten well before, and have good vitamin/mineral levels by either taking a supplement or having a healthy diet. Magnesium seems an especially helpful supplement to avoid meph side effects (tight chest, gurning, etc). Eating after or during a mephedrone session also helps tremendously. Eat plenty the next day, as your metabolism has probably been very high the night before due to the meph.

* Avoid snorting mephedrone, as although the high is more intense and shorter, less side effects seem to show when it is orally ingested.

* Set yourself a dosage limit and stick to it. Most side effects are caused by people doing far more than they originally planned due to mephs moreishness.

* If you start to get stimulant anxiety on mephedrone, or you take too much and your heart is beating very fast, its a good idea to sit down and chill out. Reassure yourself, no-one on record has died from using mephedrone by itself so far. If you were snorting it then blow your nose well and clean it out, if orally swallowed being sick is an option to get it out of your system asap (forcing vomitting unless urgent is not generably advisable, dont try too hard), or if you plugged it then go to the toilet.

Some benzodiazepines like diazepam/valium are very helpful for relaxing in situations like this, and are probably least likely to cause an adverse reaction with meph than most other drugs. Although not as effective, or proven safe by as many people, moderate GBL/GHB and Alcohol (CNS depressant) use can also help calm down too much stimulation in situations like this.

* Try to avoid having sex or masturbating while on meph, as meph makes many people very sexually turned on and still able to get an erection but unable to orgasm. This can lead to continual redosing and doing far too much, and alot of frustration.

* Dosage wise it is very unclear what the ideal dosages are for mephedrone, it seems to vary drastically depending on the person. Test a tiny amount first to ensure there is no allergic reaction. To be super safe and cautious, an oral dosage of 100mg would be a good starting point. Though a lot of users only start showing desirable effects at 200mg. Its definately NOT a good idea to keep redosing for too long as meph becomes very compulsive, and probably best to keep the total in one session to a maximum of 200-600mg. Everyone has different bodies.

* People have recommended vitamin B12 reduces any dramatic energy crash the next few days, as will having a lazy day in with a rest for your heart, and resuming a normal diet ASAP.

Once you start to get to a gram ingested in half a day or so you really should put the stuff away. Maybe give it to someone else to look after to avoid temptation, as even if you hide it you will likely come back there an hour or so later for a redose, and this will continue to happen as long as you know where it is!

Every meph fiends famous last words are "Just one more line > ... take 10"

Take this stuff easy, and write up any experiences in the Mephedrone (2-Methylamino-1-p-tolylpropan-1-one) experiences thread
